Jillian Michael’s Making the Cut, Day 1

Weigh-in is tomorrow, and it’s a curious one - Womenly Woes vs Jillian’s Drills! Hopefully, Jillian beats Tom into pulp!

So, after all the preparation, I am now ‘officially’ doing Jillian’s Michael’s “Making the Cut” program.

I decided that I will split the workout schedule. Jillian want a person to do 2 repitioion of her 5 circuits, but I just don’t have the time in the morning. So, I will do one repetition (takes about 30-35 min with a warm-up and stretch) in the morning, skip the second repetition on the days we have lunch fitness classes at work, and do the second repetition when we don’t. For cardio I will stay with my running program, doing it on the treadmill on the workdays, and outdoors - on the weekends.

For calories, after 3 days of sample eating following Jillian’s program, I still can’t survive with 3 meals and 1 snack a day. I have to have 3 meals and 4 snacks. Yep, I had to add the 4th snack before going to bed now that I have to stay at BMR, otherwise I can’t fall asleep, I feel so hungry. Calorie-wise though it’s correct, so I hope that’s Okay.

The first workout was pretty intense, very much along the lines of Level 3. Well, it started with my baby waking up at 3:15 am and nothing will do but sleeping on the couch in the living room. So, I had to take my workout at 3:45 am to *her* room. And be quiet about it. No moaning and groaning, lol! And, boy, did I want to a few times! I also had a quick scare, when doing something called burpies, that is very intense plyometrics, was afraid that I pulled a muscule in my inner thigh, but luckily it stretched out immediately. Still, caution, caution and caution! I think I will be replacing that particular type of plyometrics (it’s jumping out from squat to plank and back that caused it) at the first sign of… well, you know.

Anyways, I have a ball class today at lunch, so no second rep today, plus a run after work. Should be quite an intense day! Actually, the most intense this week, with all 3 workouts coming together. :)

    Wow 345 workout that’s early. Don’t worry too much about the snack. Everybody is different and there bodies are different as well. Hope the Jillian workout isn’t too hard for you.Take care
