No Wonder….

The Association of Model Agents (AMA) says that female models should be around 34-24-34 inches (86-61-86 cm) and at least five feet eight inches (1.72 m) tall and 108 pounds on average. Currently, the height required to do fashion shows has increased. During the last fashion shows in Europe, the average height was 1.79 m, the average weight was 50kg, with bust between 85 to 90 cm, waist under 62 cm, and hips under 90 cm, to fit the 34/36 size of haute Couture prototypes. Average dimensions for a male model are a height of 180-187 cm (5′11″- 6′2″) and a weight of 64-75 kg (140-165 lbs). Male models are also toned and fit as opposed to bulging with muscle.

This means that an average height of a female model is 5′11″ and she weighs 110 lbs. The BMI is 15.4.  For someone like me, who is of an average height, 5′7″, that means the weight slightly under 100 lbs.  When I recently dropped under 117, I started feeling dizzy and ill.

I am not insane to target *that*, but I am wondering how these women live? Do they have to take fluids intravenously or something? Do they eat once a week? Do they spend most of their days sleeping? They are obviously anorexic by definition… why only so few of them die, they should really be dropping like flies?

Healthy Cooking: Week 5, Italy

Hi folks, I was away for most of this week, but my husband had a more or less Italian experience being left with a large Lasagna for his dinners.  I have no idea if he stayed under 190 lbs, since he forgot to weigh-in, but we’ll know next Saturday, lol.

I’ve also tried making pizza crust for the first time -it’s a breeze, actually, turned out really well whole-wheat and all, we LOVED it with marinara sauce, basil and eggplant topping! I will DEFINETLY make a healthy pizza again (my husband already earmarked a healthy taco pizza recipe for me) - and I should find a good recipe for marinara sauce since I love everything that can be made from scratch to be made from scratch.

I only photographed my pizza, my lasagnas NEVER look good, so, I will skip the photos this time

With all the crazyness of the RL after coming back from the trip, I think I will skip making this week any sort of a cultural theme, but I will take a photos of anything that looks interesting. Mostly I will be going for ‘chilled’ items, like gazpachos, smoothies and salads, since we have a heat wave! I hope that these lighter fare will help with my couple extra pounds I brought back from my field trip and my husband’s ‘barrier breaking’ weight.

I think I am heading for a nervious break-down

So, I might be away for a few days, trying to keep my shit together. I will be back as soon as I can be positive about life all over again. :)

Healthy Cooking: Week 4, Mexica

Week #4: Mexicain

I started the week with cooking about 80 portions of 3 different Chilis for a fundraiser for my Run for Cure event. That’s 6 slow cookers with: Vegetarian Black bean and sweet potatoe chili, Sweet and Spicy Chili (with pinapple), and a more traditional chili with ground beef. The fundraiser was a great success!

Here is me setting up:

And a big pot full of vegeterian Chili:

There were a bit of left-overs, and I also had a lot more chopped sweet potatoes than I needed to feel the crock-pot, so I made another batch of veggie chili for us. So, not so many pictures this time. We basically just finished some left-overs and ate veggie chili for almost the entire week.

Traditional meat chili:

And Veggie chili here is served with a very nice Green peas and Asparagus salad:

In the end of the week, I finally managed to serve something other than chili: corn tortillas with chili rubbes steak and fresh salsa:

And that concludes our Mexican Food feek. Sorrel came up strong in our garden, so that decided our choice of food for Week 5. We’re eating Russian this week.
