Ridiculous Numbers on the “Calculators”

From time to time I succumb to checking those calculators out… like your “Ideal Weight” and “Caloric Needs” on the numerous websites.

Do you know what’s my ideal weight is? 140-158 lbs if I go with the large build and 130-148 lbs. My before photo on my profile page is taken at 148-150 lbs. Does THAT look like an “ideal’ weight to you?

And my caloric intake? 2000 calories? Ha! The moment I go over 1,400 I gain 2 lbs overnight.  I guess it coordinates with their idea of ideal me… at 150 148 lbs!

I am sorry, but I personally think that my ‘ideal’ weight is 115-125 lbs. And my ideal caloric intake = my BMR at ~1350 calories a day.

Heh, it almost if the authors of those tools are working for the food industry or something…. :) :) :)

My ideal weight has been as low as 116, according to some calculators. I had a doctor tell me that under 130, give or take a few pounds, would be too low, so I don’t place much confidence in them either.

Well, what concerns me is that the tools like that make me question if I am anorexic, but whenever I take a look at the mirror, I see a pretty healthy woman that can benefit from shaving off a couple of pounds here and there…. and my body fat percentage is ~16-17% nowhere NEAR low. And a calculator tells me that I am like 20 lbs BELOW my ideal weight? Which is scary if it’s true.

you know i have done those calculators and my idea weight is between 115 and 150… 150 I am now and still a chunker and when i was 115 I was a rail and super thin.. so they are odd..
You know where you look good and where you are healthy.
I can also only eat no more than 1400 calories or I gain. it sucks.. i wish I could scarf down 2000 calories a day. man would that be great…

I think not being able to run makes me a bit crazy, so I think all the wrong thoughts… :(
