Yes, yes, that was a run!
Okay, that was not long, strenous, or major calorie-burning run… and my foot is still hurting a bit.
But my story (and I am darn sticking to it!) is that I was late for my precious first bus downtown. So, seeing it was 20 after 5 in the morning, stars out and nobody to witness, and I had my walk&run shoes on, I just went ahead and ran.
15 min instead of 22 min walking, both uphill and downhill, and yes, wearing a short red dress & a huge backpack with all the stuff I lag to and fro work (hey, I did that backpack bit before, running home). As I said - nobody to see me and appreciate any unintended comic side-effects.
For those result-oriented: I caught my bus! In fact I beat the sucker by 2 minutes (yeah, I did all sort of stretching at that bus-stop before, so I did it again).
And I got my runner’s high even from this short of a run.
I am thinking if I don’t get any noticeable aggravation to the annoying bunion, I will just leave my dress at work, put on a spare excersise gear for my going home, and repeat the run tomorrow morning. Too good to miss, before winter comes, and we have ice and snow… it’s unfortunately very close now.
Anyway, looking forward to my upper body workout at lunch
Life’s good today!
And that FitDay journalling and logging site works out BEAUTIFULLY for me. I am not going back to the BS’s journal.
Here in Florida, I’m looking forward to winter so I can go running again! I hibernate in the summer…too darn hot for running!
Yep, I only run while it’s dark out here in the Arkansas heat and humidity. I might catch the sunrise, but I won’t be out long after. It’s starting to cool down though, tempting to run both morning AND evening some days.
Those runner’s highs are AMAZING!
Hope your foot cooperates!
Whooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooo! Go Leida!
Oh, I’m so glad you found some kickboxing stuff to work with! YAY!! I do need to blog about it one day.
You are amazing hon!!!
yeahh leida
i need my runners high… I miss it and it only has been a few days..
so you ran in a red dress huh? wish i was there to see that. good for you though..
oh thanks for commenting on my blog. I did not take offense and you are right I should go check it out and go see a dr.. I am a worry wart with everyone too except myself
haha, good job! Way to get your run in and catch your bus.
I should make my own pizza, and I will if I find myself addicted to it. Right now I’m just eating so much because we have so much left over, and my roommates don’t like it reheated (because they’re crazy!) and I hate having delicious food go to waste.
Interested in this runner’s high you speak of…is it different that that high I get from an intense cardio workout? Good for you! Your weight loss is inspirational. Do my asking how tall you are?
I find runners high stonger than cardio, mainly because I run outdoors, and excersise out in the fresh air is a proven mood enhancer.
I am 169 cm tall, falling smack in between 5′6″ and 5′7″. An inch is quite a lot for someone who grew up with centimeters! So, for weightloss purposes I prefer to round it down, and use 5′6″ because I am big boned, and always look much heavier than the girls at similar weight with the lighter bone structure.
